About
DREAM SMALL … LIVE BIG
We tell you everything about the Miniature Festival!
This event was created by the designer and visual artist Héléna Zaïchik during the lockdown. The idea was to use social networks to get out of isolation and create a virtual miniature house by bringing together dozens of talents. Since then, the seasons and themes have followed one another and gained hundreds of followers who are now getting involved!
HELENA ZAICHIK
My name is Héléna Zaïchik, I am a designer and visual artist.
I have always fought for manual work to regain its nobility. I am convinced that our hands have something to teach us and that creating is a vital need even if many of us prevent ourselves from doing so. I don't know of anything that makes you prouder and happier than making what you have imagined yourself. That's why I started by creating my children's toys myself and very quickly I wanted to share them to benefit other families and that's how my Instagram account @Helena_zaichik was born. Then came the books and finally the miniature festival launched in 2020 which has continued to grow ever since. It has now become an annual event that people look forward to and I receive messages throughout the year from adults and young people eager to get started.
PREVIOUS SEASONS
Each year we choose a theme with the members of the jury.
Season 1 was dedicated to the creation of a “common house”, In 2022 we launched the challenge “my miniature street”, Then it was the turn of the “Safe Place” in 2023.
season 1 - 2022
season 2 - 2023
season 3 - 2024
season 4 - 2025
The Common House
MY MINIATURE STREET
MY SAFE PLACE
Dark rooms
The Common House. 15 creators shared the rooms of a virtual house to recreate a house together from the entrance to the attic, including the pantry or workshop, the bedroom and the living room. During confinement, it was about finding connections and creative intimacy.
Given the enthusiasm generated by Season 1 and the desire of our followers to participate, we opened up the challenge of creating a street with miniature shops to everyone. Haberdasheries, bakeries, cafés and bookstores have multiplied to the point of creating almost a mini virtual city.
The public asked for a Season 3, and they got it! This year, the jury suggested diving into an imaginary Safe Place recreated in a cardboard suitcase. More than 100 participants took the plunge. The children's category was created for this occasion.
In 2025, it will be a question of recreating the scene from your favorite film, series or cartoon, always in a cardboard suitcase. Will you be there?
